Is primer always required?

CaulkingFlex ST provides excellent adhesion in combination with PaintFlex® ST on all types of synthetic teak.

Is CaulkingFlex ST suitable for wet surfaces?

For optimal performance, a dry surface is recommended.
Avoid direct contact with water during the first 24 hours of curing.

Is it resistant to salt water and UV light?

Completely. It is developed for marine environments with excellent UV and weather resistance.

When is the bond fully load-bearing?

After 4 to 8 days, the bond is fully cured and load-bearing.
Skin formation occurs within 20–35 minutes.

Preparation:

  • Clean and degrease the surface.
  • Remove old adhesive residues and sand the surface clean and smooth.
  • Always use CaulkingFlex® ST in combination with PaintFlex® ST for optimal and long-lasting results.

Application:

  • Cut the nozzle to the desired size.
  • Apply CaulkingFlex ST evenly at an angle of approximately 45°.
  • For best results, use the Smart Adhesive Spreader for an even distribution.
  • Always ensure the surface is clean before starting.

Curing and Finishing:

  • At 25 °C and 60% RH, the product cures at approximately 2–3 mm per 24 hours.
  • Full curing takes 4–8 days.
  • Once cured, the surface (adhesive and sealant residues) can be sanded and/or finished.
